He was predeceased by: his wife Marjorie; his son Marty Sweeney; and his parents, John Sweeney and Ruby Sweeney. He is survived by: his children, Tom Sweeney (Jenny) and Carol Cooper (Will). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1820 E Douglas Ave, Wichita, KS 67214.
