With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Don Rice of Derby, Kansas, who passed away on July 9, 2022 at the age of 82. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Don Rice to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, JB and Dorothy; his wife Ellen; and his brother Richard Rice. He is survived by: his daughters, Polly Maher of Derby, Peggy Springer of Macksville and Patty Rice of Derby, Kansas; his sisters, Shirley Jones (Jim) of Sedgwick and Karen Woods of Melvern, Kansas; his grandchildren, Josh Gibson (Tasha) of Howard, Jennifer MacKay (Derek) of Leawood, Jared Miller (Tamara) of Iowa, David Maher of Wichita, Jessy Springer of Macksville, Jill Drake (Gary) of Norwich, Jacob Springer of Larned, Aubri Rice of Derby, Carlos Rice of Derby and Jordyn Springer of Macksville; and his great grandchild Ash Gibson of Japan. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions have been suggested to Sedgwick County Zoo Education Scholarship Fund and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home.
