As we bid Reta Mae farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Reta Mae is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Welch and Trula Welch (Moody); her son Robert Ellis; and her brothers, Bob Welch and Lonnie Kilgore.
She is survived by: her children, James "Jim" Ellis, Jr. (Ginnie), Lawrence, Linda Sue Conrad and De Soto. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary (120 W 13th St, Lawrence, KS 66044).
