He was predeceased by: his parents, Kermit Starkey and Virginia Starkey (Cahoone); his stepfather Leslie Cooper; and his siblings, Dale Starkey and Linda Stubenhofer.
He is survived by: his wife Hattie Rosa; his daughters, Deanna Sollner (Thomas) of Cottonwood Falls and Paula Boese (Marc) of Burrton; his grandchildren, Wyatt Boese, Macy Boese, Brody Boese and Jacob Sollner; his brothers-in-law, William "Bill" Stubenhofer and Paul Stephenson (Pegi); and his godson Lance Ringler. He is also survived by many cousins' 11 nieces and nephews.
