He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis M. Mendenhall and Dorothy Mendenhall (Yoder); his former wife Patricia E. Burnette; his son Thomas Mendenhall; and his sisters, Dorothy Glisson, Almeda Clingman, JoAnn McCartney, Ella Maggard, Isabel Oliver and Carolyn L. Mendenhall.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta Fisher; his children, William Mendenhall (Lora) of Emporia, KS, Steven Mendenhall of Salina, KS., Bryane Mendenhall of McPherson, KS., Erick Mendenhall (Debbie) of Topeka, KS and Debra Smith of Concordia, KS.; his stepchildren, Robert Hudson (Molly), Jeff Freed (Amy), John Freed (Paula) of Lagrange, IN. and Terry Peterson of Beloit, KS.; and his sisters, Lelah Kroulik of Wichita, KS and Charlotte Courtney (Earl) of Lamar, MO. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren.
