He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Conro and Lenna "Maxine" Haist (Angelo); and his wife Linda A. Shuler. He is survived by: his daughters, Tina Haist-Deckard (James) and Erin Nylund (Scott); his sister Sharol Hoffman (Lloyd); his grandchildren, Steffen Shearer (Taylor), Brooks Shearer, Lauren Nylund, Emma Nylund and Ben Nylund; and his great grandchildren, Victoria and Elizabeth Shearer.
