He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernie C. Derry and Leora R. Pentico Derry (Havel); his son Timothy Pentico; and his sister Dorren Lee. He is survived by: his wife Joan Charbonneau of Concordia, KS; and his children, Kimberly Krager (Jim) of Little Rock, AR and Brent Pentico of McPherson, KS..
