With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Raymond Albert Griffitt of Columbus, Kansas, who passed away on October 25, 2021 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess Griffitt and Maud Griffitt (Patch); his sister Viola Zwahlen; his children, Raymond Edward, Leland Ray and Sandra Lynn; and his son-in-law Greg Plunkett.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Clevenger; his children, Janet McKinzie (Kerry) of Columbus, Mary Plunkett of Paragould, Sheryl Schneider (Duane) of Asbury, Diana Hill (Chester), Lela Gaye Slay (Steve) and Kenney Griffitt (Linda) of Columbus; his grandchildren, Tessa Clark (Jeff), Missy Proffitt (Don), Melinda Cox (Justin) of Columbus, Jess Plunkett of Illinois, Jason Plunkett of Paragould, Kristan Plunkett-Partlow (Jacob) of Jonesboro, Steve Schneider of Gardener, Rick Schneider (Katie) of Joplin, James Hill (Barb) of Olathe, Amanda Burns (Blake), Cassandra Hill-Durbin of Columbus, Marietta Nickelson (Danny) of Girard, Helen Holland (Adam) of Pittsburg, Lindsey Morris (Paul) of Columbus and Travis Griffitt (Kay) of Misawa, AFB; and his brothers-in-law, Billy Sam Thompson and Bill Clevenger (Jean). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the Sherwin Christian Church, the McKee Cemetery, or Integrity Hospice, all in care of the funeral home.
