He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Brassart and Elizabeth Brassart (Pyle); his brother Alex Brassart; his son John "Jack" Brassart, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Janet Brassart; his stepdaughter Suzanne Jarman; and his granddaughter Laura Wallen.
He is survived by: his wife Leah Brassart; his former wife Iva "Boots" Brassart; his daughter Regina "Gina" Carothers; his stepsons, Michael and Robert Jarman; his brother Louis Brassart; his grandchildren, Derek, Danielle Carothers, Paul Wallen (Jana), Lisa Hardman (Robert), Benjamin Brassart (Kristin), Carly and Tyler Jarman; his great grandchildren, Johnathon, Nicholas, Brodie Carothers, Kendall McDowell, Landon, Grayson Reed, Frankie, Jack Dale and Maya Mejia; and his great great grandchild Coraline Carothers.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Derfelt Funeral Home - Columbus (132 E Pine St, Columbus, KS 66725). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
