It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jimmie Floyd McConnell of Columbus, Kansas, born in South Haven, Kansas, who passed away on December 18, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank McConnell and Velma McConnell (Heuszel); his wife Sherrilyn Carlson; his daughter Tami Lea; his brothers, George William "Bud" McConnell and Earl McConnell; and his grandson Brett Carlson.
He is survived by: his children, Robert (Melissa Carlson) of Belle Plaine, KS, John (Connie Carlson) of Parkerfield, KS and Cheryl Brand of Baxter Springs, KS.; his grandchildren, Angie Baker (Keith), Tyson Carlson (Dee), Brandon Carlson (Ashley), Alysha Yung (Tyler), Jeramie Burris (Kristy), Virlynn Chapmond and Charellynn Vann (Houston); his nieces and nephews, Karen McConnell, Becky McConnell, Ron McConnell, Mike McConnell (Sharon), Terry McConnell and John McConnell; and also Dottie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Kansas Honor Flights, or Proud Animal Lovers (PAL) Shelter.
