He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lola Mae (Hendrix) and Sam Yurk; his wife Diane Yurk (Boggs); his daughters, Mary Gathoni, Gaisa Westervelt (Gary) and Elizabeth Prauser (Luke); his grandchildren, Loren Olson (Kyle), Brittany Sateapetaw (Freddy), Cassidy Westervelt, Owen Prauser and Noah Prauser; his great grandchildren, Lane and Quinlee Olson; and his brother Sam Yurk (Sue) of Okay, Oklahoma..
Gary has requested that all donations in his honor be made to Sherwin Christian Church to assist in furthering education for Mary Gathoni.
