He was predeceased by: his daughter Ann Ayers; and his sister Doris Christiansen. He is survived by: his wife Martha Anne Belt; his children, Todd (Shelby), Lisa Howard (Laddie) and Clay (Karen); and his sisters, Erma Juergensen of Churdan, Thelma Wuerdeman of Pittsburg, KS and Edna Lassman of Carl Junction, MO.. He is also survived by Five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
