He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl, Sr. and Florence; his former wife Phyllis; and his siblings, Robert Klinzman and Dorothy Vice.

He is survived by: his daughters, Nita Simonton (Marvin), Lenette Varnell (Gaylen), LeeAnn Walker (Henry) and Johna Hornung (Christian); his sister Iola Pasquale (Pete); his grandchildren, Randall Varnell (Tara), Jeremy Varnell, Levi Varnell (Sarah), Keith Walker (Emily) and Cody Walker (Leslie); and his great grandchildren, Zaine, Callie, Trivett, Ayden, Jody, Livia, Brady Varnell and Hannah Walker.
