He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hey and Frances Hey; and his brother Curtis Hey. He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his daughter Elizabeth Meyer (Matthew Meyer); his grandson Ike Meyer of Grovespring, Missouri.; his sister Sarah Gurley of Caney, Kansas.; his nephew Tim Hey; and his nieces, Cindy Hey, Kathy Shaffer and Gina Anderson.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Derfelt Funeral Home - Columbus (132 E Pine St, Columbus, KS 66725). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at the Cherokee Cemetery.
