He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Maris and Alene Maris (Williams); his daughter Christi Ann Peterson; his siblings, Melba Harmon, Mary Jo Maris, Anne Loesch and Merle Maris; and his son-in-law Michael Sanders.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jo Maris; his children, Tammy Lynn Sanders, Marva Jo Mosshart (Karl) of Protection, KS and Michael Maris (Frankie) of St. Charles, MO; his son-in-law Theron Peterson of Protection, KS; his grandchildren, Chelsie Monroe (Clint) of Protection, KS, Michael Mosshart (Katelyn), Samuel Mosshart of Hays, KS, Jordan Sanders (Lindsey) of Aurora, CO, Aaron Walker (Kim) and Preston Maris of St. Charles, MO; his great grandchildren, Tory Maris, Gracyn Monroe of Protection, KS, Everly and Raylie Mosshart of Hays, KS; and his sister Marge Sangster of Protection, KS. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
