He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Smith and Alice Smith (Honaker); his wife Judy; his siblings, Larry Joe, David and Linda; and his daughter-in-law Annie.
He is survived by: his children, Garry G. Smith, Jr. (Loann) of Lenox, IA, Richard L. Smith (Stephanie) of Hugoton, KS, Jeanette L. Houghton (Mark) of Protection, KS and Anthony W. "Tony" Smith of Coldwater, KS; and his brothers, Dennis Smith (Charmaine) of Protection, KS and Lyle Smith (Christine) of Protection, KS. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
