“I'm very heartbroken to hear this news. Mel was a customer and over the years became what I consider to be a very close friend. I will certainly miss his company and the conversations about so many things that we had in common, namely, the love of rural Kansas, the love of good food, the love of bacon. I'll never eat bacon and tomato sandwich without thinking of him Mel was loved dearly and will be missed dearly. May he rest in peace!!”
