He is survived by: his children, Nancy Carpenter (Melvin) of Overland Park, KS and Timothy Berens (Leah); and his grandchildren, Cary Carpenter of San Francisco, CA, Casandra Carpenter of Bucyrus, KS, Benjamin Weintrub, Berlin and Germany. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
