She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Scott and Gladys Scott (Peterson); her former husband Donald Young; her husband Benny Sowell; her siblings, Walter Dale Scott and Francis Pauline Scott; her stepson-in-law Roy Carr; and her stepgrandson Matt Swigart.
She is survived by: her children, Mike Young (Julie) of Edgerton, Kip Young (Tammy) of Gardner, Kansas and Tammy Gray (Darrel) of Coffeyville, Kansas; her stepdaughters, Melinda Carr (late Roy) of Coffeyville, Kansas and Nancy Nash (Mike) of Branson, Missouri.; her grandchildren, Kelly Hanna, Shelly Slavin (Thomas), Kristi McQuary (Thomas), Aubrey Foye (Daniel) and Trenton Young; and her great grandchildren, Dani Hanna, Colton Slavin, Sol Michael Hanna, Addison Slavin, Mason McQuary, Micah, Maisie, Trinity and Truly Foye. She is also survived by many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Tyro Christian Church (301 S Market St, Tyro, KS 67364). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tyro Christian Church; contributions may be left with or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 N. Cline Rd., Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
