It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kathryn Rose Thompson in Coffeyville, Kansas, born in Independence, Kansas, who passed away on December 10, 2020, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harland Wells and Mary Wells; and her siblings, Andrew, David, Laurie, George, Jim, John, Elizabeth and Martha.
She is survived by: her husband Clarence Jewell Thompson; her brothers, Don Thompson (Freda) and Welding Supply; her children, Tommy R. Thompson (Linda Hargrove) of Coffeyville, Ricky L. Thompson (Cathy Clark) of Coffeyville, Nicky K. Thompson (Debra Yeubanks) of Coffeyville and Sondra K. Thompson McGuire (James McGuire) of Dallas, Texas.; her grandchildren, Randy Thompson (Gina), Todd Thompson, Trace McGuire, Gigi McGuire, Ryan Thompson (Julie), Jessica Jacobs (Bob), Lisa Scheck (Benjamin), Kristina Thompson and Cody Thompson; and her great grandchildren, Zach Thompson, Rain Casurole, Emma Thompson, Bennett Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Andrew Jacobs, Lillian Jacobs, Ivy Jacobs, Nora Scheck, Samuel Scheck and Vivienne Scheck. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren.
In lieu of the pandemic, a private family service will be held at The First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville.
In memory of Kathryn "Katie" Thompson, memorials may be made to The Thompson Family Scholarship at the Coffeyville Area Community Foundation or the Shriners Hospitals for Children, contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W.
