It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Smith of Coffeyville, Kansas, born in Los Angeles, California, who passed away on February 4, 2023, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman L. Carter and Ruby Louise Carter (McNutt); and her husband Vernon L. Smith. She is survived by: her former husband Jim Fishburn; her daughter Tina Lewman of Joplin, Missouri; her stepchildren, Wes Smith (Lisa) of Wellington, Kansas and Tracy Holsworth (Kyle) of Wellington, Kansas; her brother Norman Carter (Cherryl) of Independence; and her half-sisters, Bertie of Oklahoma and Mary Ruth of California.
The family suggests memorial contribution can be made to the First Southern Baptist Church; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
