It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Diana VanWinkle (Coffeyville, Kansas), born in Caney, Kansas, who passed away on February 25, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William "Bill" Knapp and Dorothy Ashby McBurney (Norfleet); her spouse Leslie "Les" Howard VanWinkle; her great grandchild Gordon Motl; her sister Kathryn Laird; and her brothers-in-law, Don Laird, Ralph VanWinkle and John VanWinkle.
She is survived by: her children, Lane Gordon (Scott) of Coffeyville and David VanWinkle (Michele) of Independence; her grandchildren, Shanna Motl (Jonathan), Jesse Gordon (Katy), Nikki Lowrey (Jake), Miranda Gordon, Austin Gordon (Alison) and Ryan Redington (Dalice); her great grandchildren, Bennett, Jagger, Jenner, Joel, Leslie, Paxton, Poppy and Rowan; and her brother John (Judy McBurney).
The family suggests memorials to Lincoln Elementary School, Caney United Methodist Church or charity of the donor's choice; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
