He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Elizabeth Wharton (Worden) and James Junior Wharton; his siblings, Druzilla Clarise Beaver (Wharton), Valera DeAnn Learned (Wharton), Donald James Wharton, Vernon David Wharton and Merlin Dale Wharton; and his nephews, Nick Beaver and Earl James Wharton.
He is survived by: his sister Valeta Darlene Scott (Wharton); his brother-in-law Buss Scott of Derby; his brother Milton Dean Wharton; his sister-in-law Gladys Wharton of Belle Plaine; his brother Delbert Eugene Wharton; his siblings-in-law, Jo Ann Wharton of Derby, Setsuko Wharton of Hermann, MO and James Learned of Brighton, CO.; and his nieces and nephews, Jody Webb, JoAnn Koenig, Jan Lorenzo, Joshua Learned of Colorado, Carl Beaver, John Wharton, Junior Wharton, Kathy Heinz, Keith Scott, Todd Scott, Joyce Brooks, Larry Wharton Nolan, Shawn Wharton, Beth Fleetwood, Nena Smith of Kansas, Jerry Wharton of Oklahoma, Rhiannon Wharton, Roy Wharton, Kent Eslinger-Wharton, Dale Wharton of Florida, Floyd Wharton, Robert Wharton and Don Wharton of Missouri.
