He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Johnson and Josephine Johnson; his sister Alice Griffin of Hays, KS.; his wife Betty Ann Bieker; and his sons, Gerald and James.
He is survived by: his siblings, Harold Johnson of Lenora, KS, Esther Headley, Lela Smith, Glenda Stephens and Patricia Cozad; and his children, Gloria Strother (Dorsey) of New Port Richey, FL, Catherine Self, Jeanne Pharis (Don), Edwin (Gladys), Edward Johnson, Rita Conrad, Christopher Johnson and Charles Johnson. He is also survived by eleven granddaughters, eighteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
