He was predeceased by: his parents, Elvin Basart and Florence Basart (Anderson); and his brothers, Edwin and Ron Basart. He is survived by: his sisters, Mary Marlatt (Reuben Bradley) of Grand Island, Nebraska., Nancy Demars of Glasco, Kansas. and Vickie (Don Burkhardt) of Smith Station, Alabama.; and his close friend Sherri Gross of Clay Center.

Memorials may be made to the Kansas Masonic Literacy Center @ ESU c/o the funeral home.
