He was predeceased by: his parents, Coy Vance and Nona Vance (Jordan); his son James Jr.; and his siblings, Jack, Jerry Vance, Vera Wilkins, Virginia Henderson, Carol Curtis and Bonnie Bond.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Vance, Holly Rolen and Lori Fatuch; and his sister Barbara Hall of Hutchinson. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
