He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence L. Simmons and Evelyn B. Simmons (Hofmeister). He is survived by: his close friend Penny Kennedy; his children, Zack Gumtau (Alisa) and Kelly Simmons of Wichita; his sisters, Ruby Simmons of Kansas City and Annebelle Komarek (Jason) of Kearny, Missouri; and his grandchildren, Jeramiah, James and Nova.
