He was predeceased by: his parents, Verner Eugene and Mildred Franks (McWherter); his former wife Myra Franks (Marshall); his spouse Johnna Carroll; and his brother-in-law Orton Wilson.
He is survived by: his children, Alex Franks (Melissa), Johnnie Franks of Moline, Kansas, Sharon Hoskinson (Shannon) of Cimarron and Kim Becker (Bobby) of Cimarron, Kansas; and his sisters, Hazel Nell Wilson of Nevada, Carol Jean Janes (Jerry) of Nevada and Judy Lee Gazaway (Glenn) of Moundville, Missouri. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
