Joyce McGill Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce McGill of Chetopa, Kansas, born in Picher, Oklahoma, who passed away on April 29, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Joyce may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Joyce touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her husband George McGill; her parents, Walter Naylor Darnell and Golda Darnell (Newton); and her brothers, George, Leon and Dale Darnell.
She is survived by: her sons, Kenny McGill of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Lloyd McGill of Joplin, Missouri, Terry McGill (Penny) of Cassville, Missouri and Barry McGill (Julie) of Granby, Missouri.. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 10 (soon to be 11) great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Chetopa City Library are requested.
