He is survived by: his wife Mary Sue Kolb; his son Steve Johnston (Lisa) of Cherryvale; his grandson Joseph Johnston (Amy) of Thayer; and his great grandchildren, Gus, Ivy, Kati and Jay.
A graveside service was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Fairview Cemetery (427 N Olive St, Cherryvale, KS 67335).
