He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Donald Yates and Margaret Yates (Lyons); his children, Dawn Yates (John Rau) of Liberty, Kansas, Chris Yates of Overland Park, Kansas, Gabriel Yates of Jacksonville, Florida and Kimberley DeBoer (Brian Roberts) of St. Augustine, Florida; his stepsister Pam Baebler of Gig Harbor, Washington; and his pet Laddie. He was also cherished by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
