He was predeceased by: his former wife Ruth Compton (Parsons); his parents, Alson Compton and Zama Compton (Scammehorn); and his siblings, Roy, Harold, Glenn, Earl, Bob Compton, Mary Jane Alloway and Esther Fornshell.
He is survived by: his wife Nelva Compton (McCary); his children, Kevin Compton (Phyllis) of Maize, Kirsten Bolinger of Dallas, TX and Kip Compton (Beth) of Frisco, TX; his grandchildren, Shawnae Ditgen (Brandt), Jenny Compton, Abigail Peak (Jefferson) and Eric Compton (Payton); his children, Trista Nance (Trey), Sara Cummings (Bryce) and Maxwell Compton; and his brother Homer Compton. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
