He was predeceased by: his father Charles Edward; his brother Ron Kozel; and his granddaughter Avery Belk. He is survived by: his mother Doris Lea Kozel (VanZandt) of Ellsworth, KS; his wife Jeanie of Chase; his children, Jeremy Kozel (Becky) of Lyons, KS, Marsha Belk (Jimmy) of Chase, KS and Sam Kozel of Yukon, OK; his brother Larry Kozel; and his grandchildren, Austin Kozel, Walon Belk and Carter Kozel.

Memorials may be given to Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
