She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred VanVickle and Fern VanVickle (Deffenbaugh); her husband Jim Carter; her daughter Linda Carter; her grandson Jason Chaney; and her brother David VanVickle.
She is survived by: her children, Beth Chaney, Kathy Brooks (Tony) of Chanute and Vance (Paula) of Humboldt; and her grandchildren, Chris Brooks of Chanute, Phil Chaney of Chanute and Tracy McDonald of Chanute. She is also survived by great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Legion Honor Guard have been suggested and can be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
