He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Bill Leatherman and Madge Leatherman; his sons, Jerad Leatherman of Pittsburg, KS and Ryan Leatherman of Pittsburg, KS; and his former wife Kathy Dierks of Chanute, KS..

Memorial donations may be made in Jon's name to either the Special Olympics of Kansas or Chanute Post 170 Legion baseball and may be mailed or left with the funeral home.
