He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Gobea and Susana Gobea (Guerra); his wife Mary Alonzo; his son Thomas Gregory Gobea; his grandson Nicholas Gobea Ramirez; and his brother Tony Gobea.

He is survived by: his children, Catherine Ramirez, Marcella Gobea and Paul Gobea of Shawnee, KS; his siblings, Sally Padilla, Cecilia Ornelas, Mary Ellen Smedley and Pete Zaragosa, Jr. of Chanute, KS; and his grandsons, Curtis Gobea, Stephan Nickell and Josh Sparks.

The family suggests memorials to be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church and St. Patrick Catholic School and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
