The memory of Howard Eugene Bailey (Chanute, Kansas), who passed away on April 11, 2025 at the age of 92, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer B. Bailey and Ruth Lenora Greve Bailey; his brother Everett; and his parents-in-law, Fred and Edith Hummer.
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Louise Hummer; his children, Deedra Bailey (Keith Romero) and Andrew Bailey (Lisa); his granddaughter Lauren; his stepgrandson Adrian Spencer, Jr.; his sister Lucille Stansbery of Columbia Falls, MT; his brother-in-law Larry Hummer (Gail) of Buford, GA; and his friends, Kevin and Marcia Gough. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Otternein Community Church (631 W 7th St, Chanute, KS 66720).
The family is requesting memorials to American Heart Association or American Parkinson's Disease Association. Memorials to either of these organizations made be sent in care of Countryside Funeral Home, 101 North Highland Avenue, Chanute, Kansas 66720.
