He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leo Fickel and Beth Fickel (Nichols); his former wife Marcia Heaton; his brother Roger Fickel (Deb Zimmerman) of Bartlesville, OK; his children, Sara Larkin of Chanute, KS, Kirk Fickel (Jaime) of Chanute, KS and Marcetta Shue (Nick) of Stark, KS.; his grandchildren, Emily Hamrick (Larkin), Logan Fickel, Mitchell Larkin and Melanie Shue; his great grandchildren, Everly Hamrick and Declan Hamrick; and his brothers, Mike Fickel and Spencer Fickel. He was also cherished by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a loving extended family.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wickham Family Funeral Home - Chanute (500 N Forest Ave, Chanute, KS 66720). A prayer was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (424 S Central Ave, Chanute, KS 66720). A Mass was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to the Knights of Columbus and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home.
