She was predeceased by: her sons, Billy and Ricky; her husbands, Carl Smoot and Howard Rutledge; her brother Roy Marts; and her stepson Jeffery Rutledge.
She is survived by: her children, Roger Smoot and Olivia Stier-Smart; her stepchildren, Jill Rutledge and John Rutledge (Donna); her siblings, Jackie Berthot and Robert Marts (Jackie); her daughter-in-law Kaye Smoot; her sisters-in-law, Marlene Marts and Carla McKinney; her grandchildren, Scherauna Roberts, BJ Smoot (Heather), Erica Sopon (Werner) and Nicole Stier; her great grandchildren, Amanda Roberts and Isabell Sopon; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Shaelyn, Dallas, Gabriel, Jeremiah Nicol, Jeff and Patty Berthot.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Reachout Christian Center (201 S Malcolm Ave, Chanute, KS 66720).
Dorothy loved her church, memorial contributions can be left in Dorothy's name to the Reachout Christian Church.
