He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Bourne and Verna Bourne (Engel); his wife Judith Bourne (VanGilder); his daughter Kristine Henning (Bourne); and his brother William Bourne.
He is survived by: his children, Dawn Lackey (Mark) of Lindsborg, KS and Tracy Bourne (Jill) of Colwich, KS; and his son-in-law Todd Henning of Shawnee, KS. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with both the Centralia Community Fund, and the Onaga Booster Club.
