He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Cottrell and Mary Cottrell (Harries); his siblings, Howard Cottrell, Helen Paxson and Warren Cottrell; his brother-in-law Phil Paxson; and his niece Deborah King.
He is survived by: his wife Janie Gagna of Centralia; his children, Scott Cottrell (Sandi) of Topeka, Chance Cottrell (Ashley) of Wamego and Nikki Gausman (Scott) of Kearney, Nebraska; his grandchild Hunter Cottrell (Emily); his children, Blaize Gausman, Neely Gausman, Kenworth Cottrell and Mack Cottrell; his great grandchildren, Ariel Cottrell and Henry Cottrell; his sister-in-law Betty Cyphers (Tom); his nephews, Tom Sauvage (Amy) of Pacific, Missouri, Tim Sauvage (Kat) and Jordan Cyphers (Annie) of Aurora, Kansas; and his niece Brooke Bryson of Concordia.
