David Allen Twigg Obituary

David Allen Twigg, age 68 of Cedar Vale, Kansas and formerly of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. David was a truck driver, retiring in 2008. He was born and raised in Paris, Illinois, where he attended school. Right after graduating, he joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam.

He grew up hunting and fishing and loved the outdoors. David also loved riding horses and enjoyed his numerous dogs that he had over the years. He was a former member of the VFW and American Legion. Recently, he enjoyed traveling with his wife in their RV. Born August 21, 1950 in Paris, he was the son of the late Allen Eugene and Hazel (Simons) Twigg.

He married Melody A. (Wilson) Twigg March 9, 1983 in Torrington, Wyoming and she survives. Other survivors include his children Tabitha "Tabby" Cole and her husband Steve of Clinton, Indiana and Shannon Manley of Brazil, Indiana, one brother Chuck C. Twigg of Danville, Illinois, two sisters Nancy Lynn Haynes and her husband Jim of Hayesville, Kansas and Loretta Phillips of Oakwood, Illinois, four grandchildren; Cory Cole, Jeremy Martin, Michael Manley, and Cheyenne Burskey, one great grandson Greyson Cole, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation is planned, celebration of life services will be held at a later date.

“Daddy, I miss you! i can never fully express what your love and acceptance has and still means to me. you were the most amazing man and father i have ever known. you gave me not only life but you showed me a love i never knew possible. i just found this obituary by accident. i am so honored to be listed amoung your children and blessed beyond words that my childrens names were here as well. thank you so very much. this is one of the proudest moments of my entire life. i love you daddy.”
