She was predeceased by: her parents, Anton Schmeidler and Anna Schmeidler (Sander); her husband Ralph Walter; her son Vernon Walter; her siblings, Edwin, Ralph, Lawrence, Anton Schmeidler and Irene Dreiling; and her grandson Farron Leiker.
She is survived by: her daughters, Dorothy Augustine (Richard) of Hays, Rosie Leiker (Herman) of Munjor, Cynthia Rooker (Francis) of Las Cruces, NM and Barbara Margaris (Jack) of Mission; her daughter-in-law Diana Walter of Catharine; her sisters, Lillian Fisher of Hays, Anna Marie Lessor (Laverne) of Great Bend and Gloria VonLintel (Robert) of Vincent; and her siblings-in-law, Melvin Walters of Tulsa, OK, Dolores Schmeidler of Hays and Elsie Schmeidler of Hays. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested for masses.
