He is survived by: his wife Shirley Pfeifer of Catharine; his children, Greg Schmidt (Pam) of Catharine, Mike Schmidt (Ann) of Catharine, Jackie Jones (Tim) of Hays and Lisa Stouffer (Allen) of Leavenworth; his siblings, Adolph Schmidt (DeAnn) of Hays, Gerald Schmidt (Elaine) of Hays and Cora Dortland of Gorham; his siblings-in-law, Maynard Evans of Hays, Verlin Pfeifer of Hill City, Rosie Schmidt of Hays, Mary Vogt (Rick) of Chicago, IL, Sheila Thompson (Tim) of Westwood, Rebecca Tolemy (David) of Bloomingdale, IL and Sandy Pfeifer of Covington, PA; his grandchildren, Eric Schmidt (Kelli), Ryan Schmidt (Jennifer), John Jones (Aubrey), Rachel VonFeldt (Scott), Niki Smith (Tony), Casey Wendel (Nathan), Erin Sims (Ryan), Kyle Schmidt, Carly Schmidt, Shelby Stouffer, Lucas Stouffer (Megan) and Michael Schmidt; and his great grandchildren, Catherine, Evelyn, Sophia, Jace, Elon, Mason, Colby Schmidt, Cooper, Georgia Jones, Camri, Kaden, Konnor VonFeldt, Emma, Julie Smith, Clayton, Tyler Wendel, Emerie Stouffer and Olivia Sims. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
