He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alfred Edward and Emma Julia Purdy Waetzig; his wife Mona Eileen Waetzig; his children, Robin Baird (George) of Carbondale, KS, Sheryl George (Mark) of Lenexa, KS, Rick Waetzig (Donna) of Topeka, KS and Charles Waetzig (Barbara Barnard) of Topeka, KS; and his sisters, Peggy Owens, June Onnen, Alice Bernhardt and Carol Ashwill. He was also cherished by 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
