It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ferd E. Estes of Caney, Kansas, born in Independence, Kansas, who passed away on January 26, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett E. Estes and Ruth Estes (Dougherty); his wife Sylvia Waggoner; his sister Patricia; his siblings-in-law, Judy Estes, Wirt Franklin and Jim Waggoner; and his son-in-law Jack Horton.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Estes (Cathy) of Caney, Kansas, Patricia Horton of Wayside, Kansas, James Estes (Karen) of Kansas City, Kansas, Elizabeth Anderson (Kenny) of Caney, Kansas and David Estes of Caney, Kansas; his grandchildren, Michelle Kraus (Tyler), Caitlin Ramsey (Chris), Rachel Renfro (Marc), Jonathan Estes (Kolbi), Lindsay Cacozza (Joe), Jacqueline Horton, John Horton (Natalie), Brandon Higday (Melissa), Ashley Beurskens (Brett) and Kyler Estes; his siblings, James D. Estes of Jacksonville, Florida and Mary Ann Franklin of Benton, Arkansas; and his sister-in-law Wilna Waggoner of Caney, Kansas.. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; and several much loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
