She was predeceased by: her parents, Ferdinand Mathis and Ruth Catherine Gales (Malone); her parents-in-law, Marcus and Mary Schmidt; her siblings, Harold Gales (Velma), Arthur Gales, Pauline Simmons (James) and Dana Blakely; and her nephews, Philip Shaver and Todd Simmons.

She is survived by: her husband Joseph Louis Schmidt; her great grandchild Jodie Bruna (Mark) of Hanover, KS; her son Nathan Bruna (Samantha); her grandchildren, Alivia, Calvin, Caroline and Garrett of Hanover; her daughter Katie Woods (Ken); her grandchildren, Kambria, Claire and Caylee of Green, KS; her daughter Cindy Lawrence (Austin); her grandchildren, Dakota, Sawyer, Hudson, Axel and Rylee of Hanover; her son Rick Bruna (Kelsee); her grandchildren, Addison, Haley and Andrew of Hanover; her child Christy Steinfort (Austin); her grandchildren, Garth, Clayton, Jed and Quincianne of Hanover; her children, Dean Bruna of Hanover and Kent Bruna (Colleen); her grandchild Kinsley of Hanover; her children, Jamie Bruna of Hanover, Ryan, Zachary and Jenna Tormondson (Dakota); her grandchildren, Knox, Indie and Tatum of Hanover; her daughter Erika Jueneman (Brandon); her grandchildren, Ella and Leyna of Hanover; her children, Kyla Kruse of Manhattan and Lincoln Stukey (Lynzie); her grandchild Whitley of Burlington; her children, Dalton Stukey (Daylee) of Gridley, Bree Schmidt of Ozark, MO, Wyatt Schmidt, Carter Chabot, Campbell Chabot and Riplee Schmidt of Topeka; and her siblings, Shirley Stein (Maurice) of Dodge City, James Gales (Donna) of Atchison, Patricia Latas of Larned and Thomas Gales of River Ridge, LA. She is also survived by her five children, 20 grandchildren.
