Rice of Buffalo, Kansas, born in Elon College, North Carolina, who passed away on October 18, 2024, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Clayton Buckner and Mary Hughes Buckner; her husband Bill; and her siblings, James Woody Buckner (KIA 2nd Armored Division “Hell On Wheels”/Battle of the Bulge/Belgium/1944), Clayton Hughes Buckner, Mary Evelyn Winfrey (V. G.), Ernestine Brammer (George) and Ann Terrill (Bill).
She is survived by: her children, Sarah, Jane Lindley Lake (Myron), William Hiram Rice (Barbara) and Mary Angela (Andy); and her grandchildren, Marla Christine Cloutier Minihan (Jerry), William Hiram Rice (Whitney), Zackary Buckner, Lindley Callie Mueller, Charlene Kimberly Mueller and Cherokee Winter Johnson. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and a wealth of nieces and nephews she loved.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations might be made to St Marys Manor Memorial Fund.
