He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Scanlon and Elizabeth Scanlon; his brother Jim Scanlon; and his siblings-in-law, John Kroll and Judith Scanlon.
He is survived by: his daughter Carrie Ashley (Aaron Ashley); his grandson Garrison Ashley; his siblings, Ed Scanlon, Patricia Kroll, Margaret Puhl (Jim Puhl) and Vickie Stone (Michael Stone); and his former spouse Penne Howerton. He is also survived by other loving family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation at vfw.org.
