He was predeceased by: his parents, J. P. Barns and Imogene Barns (Canfield); and his nephew Newberry. He is survived by: his daughters, Amy Burns and Kimberly Burns of Iowa; his siblings, Connie Newberry of Climax Springs, MO., Steve Burns of Basehor, KS. and Roger Burns (Toni) of Grandview, MO.; and his grandchildren, Austin Minton, Holly Lentz, Kevin "Jack" Minton, Levi Minton, Jessica Cowan and Katie Cowan. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren and many extended family and friends.
